1. How long is the program and when do we meet? The program is 8 weeks long and starts on June 29th. There is a group run every Saturday morning at 8am!
2. What is included in the $75 cost of the training program? Includes your race registration for the Irish Fest 5K race, shoe & apparel discounts, individual coaching, dynamic training tips, swag, accountability and more! We’ve got you covered.
3. Who is the run coach? Carey Grafwallner, RRCA Level 1 Certified Running Coach and owner of CMG Running.
4. What Race are we running? Irish Fest 5k on August 17th
5. Do I have to be Runner? Is this program suitable for beginners/intermediate/advanced runners?
Beginner Walk/Run Plan - 4 workouts per week incorporating walking and running to get those to the finish line who areinterested in running their first 5K.
Intermediate Plan - 4 workouts per week for the experienced runner who may need a plan to get to the finish line by increasing your mileage safely.
Advanced Plan - 5 workouts per week that includes speedwork, strides, and progression runs. This plan is for the runner that runs or races regularly and wants to work towards setting a PR or to just feel fast on race day.
6. What kind of workouts are involved? Depending on which program is right for you, you’ll have workouts that are running/walking for a specific amount of time, running for specific distances, or running at specific paces for specific distances
7. Can I customize the program to fit my schedule or specific needs? There are certain things you can do to make your program work for you such as move your runs around to accommodate work or life events but the idea is to get you from point A to point B in a safe and healthy manner (no injuries!) so if you change too much you may lose the integrity of the program. It’s always best to consult with Coach Carey before making any customizations.
8. Will this program help me improve my race time? This program is designed for people of all abilities to feel accomplished on race day. For some that may be to have ran an entire 5K while for others it may be to set a PR. Our goal is for everyone to reach their own definition of success by the end.
9. Are there any prerequisites or fitness levels required to start this program? You should always consult with your physician before starting any new exercise plan, but once you have the green light there are no prerequisites! All levels and abilities are welcome.
